Before I hoove off and run off into the rest of the week…I have two things to report…both of them about connection.
Firstly, L&P have done something quite amazing for me. L is so plugged in, you see, to the 99% uni-mind that she jammed up a song, just out of the blue, or the pink, whichever way you see it. The lyrics for which were sent to me recently and, as I expected, it’s exactly how I have been feeling. I have the best friends in the world, all over the world. P summed it up when he said “wow, that’s very Breeders”. Thank you darlinks. Only you know why.
Secondly, my brother called me up this morning during a long-haul-ass drive and said “get on the internet and find this song”. So, I did. And thank him for hooking me up with this. Lest we forget, people, that it matters not how many medals anybody won, or that a really tall man can run really fast, that there are people not making the news and getting twenty-four hour coverage on CNN, who really should be. What am I talking about? I’m talking about Lionel Bastos’ Tears Falling In Tibet that you can have a look at here. And I hope you do. Lest we forget, people.
In both cases above, I see how it is indeed possible for people who may be entirely geographically distant from a situation, to still be able to resonate with someone hurting or with a cause for which they have no specific face. So, you see, peeps, if these people can feel and not be in the same room, I have to ask, why can’t the whole human race? Why are we fighting so much when we so easily could resonate?
A little empathy wouldn’t go amiss in these strange times. Neither does a little dancing. Neither does a little slipknot (and no, folks, Slipknot does not make you want to stab your classmate, being an asshole does)
=)
And that’s my random thought for today.
