The Cath-Chris CutDown Challenge

Posted on January 22, 2010

The Cath–Chris CutDown Challenge begins on Monday,  25 January 2010.

Where: Chris, in Cape Town. Cath, in Durban.

What: Not quit but, cut down on smoking. Currently, both Chris and Cath are smoking far too much during the day.

So, what are the rules?

  • Cut down from over a box of twenties a day (we both confess to having hit 40 smokes in the last 24 hours)…to just 20 cigarettes a day.
  • Complete honesty. Daily check-ins over Skype.
  • Going out always mean you smoke more at events; out with the mates etc. So, no penalties apply for this.  But, the closer you can stay to the 20 a day mark, the better.
  • Whoever fails, at the end of the first week, to have stayed at 20 cigarettes a day, will have to do a dare, as decided by the other party.

It goes. We’re being really kind to each other on this score too. Need to be. It’s REALLY hard!
