gratitude

Dear Person,

As you well know. I have no idea whether or not you’re reading this. That’s okay with me either way.

There was one thing I did not get to say to you. One thing I did not have the chance to tell you to your face. Perhaps that time will come, but, for today, I want to say it here.

Thank you.

Thank you for loving my toasties and making me laugh so hard my nose ran.

Thank you for early morning snuggles and late night chats.

Thank you for walking straight through hell with me and not caring if flames licked your feet too.

Thank you for stroking my hair after a bad day and reminding me that there was still another one.

Thank you for every time you were there. And thank you for every time that you think you were not. You were always there. And somewhere inside of me, you still are.

Thank you for the dancing, the craziness, the sunshine and the early morning beach sunrises.

Thank you for letting me in.

Thank you for being you.

Thank you for letting me be me and beyond.

Thank you for every day and night.

Thank you for every hour.

Thank you for tapping your foot at me and applauding when I finally did something.

Thank you for believing in me.

Thank you for trusting me and most of all, thank you for letting me trust you.

Thank you for finding the beauty within my chaos.

Thank you for holding my hand when we crossed the road.

And thank you for holding my boob when we crossed the road too.

Thank you for getting me. Like noone else ever, ever, ever.

Thank you for loving my daughter.

Thank you for never wanting to cross any lines, and not being afraid when I said it was okay.

Thank you for the incredible companionship and the excellent understanding.

Thank you for your grace.

Thank you for letting me do what I felt I could to help you.

Thank you for letting me know those who are closest to you.

Thank you for letting me be one of them.

Thank you for the experience and time and wonderful sunsets.

Thank you for breakfasts and brunches and dinner times on your bed watching series ’til we fall asleep.

Thank you for the sleep. The divine sleep.

Thank you for being the only other person I know who is awake when my kingsomnia strikes.

Thank you for being the absolute superhero you still are, even when you don’t think so.

Thank you for once telling me that I was yours.

Thank you for walking into my office that day.

Thank you for every picture and every word.

Thank you.
